There are more and more people taking out subscriptions to the beliefs that we become what we think. I took out my subscription years ago and I continue to learn how a subtle thought can become our experiences.
Check this example out.
In 2011 I wanted a new job. I wanted more money and more freedom to guide my vision and lead people. A few job opportunities arose and I jumped at the opportunity only to be turned down. I did let this get to me–I was mad at times, down on myself at others–and I had trouble letting go. It was two years later when I finally got the job I was after–its a great fit, flexible with lots of great responsibility–and now I expand into my next experience. I made one shift and asked myself one question during the turbulent times which opened up the possibility for change.
So how can we utilize our mind’s powers to bring to us the experiences we want to live?
Remember this one piece of skill–if you remember anything at all–the mind works not by having something, wanting/not wanting something, needing something, or being interested in something. Experience matters–and experience is the energy. We can only change our energy with a question–a thought.
Here is what I mean.
Our mind gets focused on creating something in the material world–generally. We can envision it, feel it, smell it, and create the experience within our imagination. Yet, so often, the thing never materializes. I can use my imagination for something and it can become so vivid, yet it does not matter in the end. When I do this (I have come to learn) I am not in the right mindset. This mindset is one of openness and detachment. This is the key. In my example above, I envisioned myself in a new job, running programs and guiding people. I wanted it and I kept meeting disappointment after disappointment. Then it ‘clicked.’
If we desire something we are missing the point of having it in the first place.
Like a flower, we want to expand and open up to life. When we do this, we can ask for anything, all the while knowing that what is right and needed will be delivered right on time.
So, you want that new income? Ask for it and let it go. If you find yourself in an ‘unbearable’ position of being broke or another uncomfortable experience, ask yourself this question;
What do I need to learn right now?
Once you dig into this answer, your experience will change. I guarantee it. It did for me. Once I asked myself, “What do I need to learn now?” My mind brought an answer and the lesson sunk in. All of this happened in just enough time to land my dream job quickly.
Tell us, what is it you need to learn right now?
